In all probability probably the most stunning information this spring was that some employees members scared up an American Woodcock with three kids. That is the primary documentation that this species efficiently breeds on our property. Additionally, a Sprague’s Pipit that was detected on our Motus tower was present in northern Montana a while later. It’s proof that our prairie may be thought of an important stopover for this and different grassland species on their migration north. Lastly, a Say’s Phoebe was noticed by the customer middle. It is a western species of flycatcher that not often makes it this far east.
Different sorts of birds appear to reach day by day. Amongst these now we have been seeing embrace Yellow-rumped and Yellow Warblers, Japanese Towhees, swallows (barn, rough-legged, tree, financial institution), sparrows (white-crowned, Lincoln’s, clay-colored, lark, discipline, grasshopper, Harris’s), Wooden Geese (two households with ducklings!), Killdeer, Baltimore and Orchard Orioles, and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks.
