Spring air brings a way of renewal, and throughout Audubon Nice Plains that power is mirrored within the work we do to guard birds and the locations they want.

At Rowe Sanctuary, we wrapped up one other unbelievable crane season, welcoming guests from all 50 states and from 20 international locations. This 12 months, we had been particularly honored to host an unforgettable occasion that includes acclaimed creator Amy Tan and famend naturalist John Muir Legal guidelines.

We had been additionally thrilled to companion for the fifth 12 months on the “Return of the Thunderbirds,” a seasonal occasion that builds group throughout cultures via the lens of conservation. As we glance forward, we’re excited to organize for an additional season of Audubon Adventures nature camp at Brigham Sanctuary. Applications like these supply younger folks the possibility to discover the outside, construct curiosity, and develop a lifelong connection to nature.

None of this work can be attainable with out sturdy partnerships and sustained assist. Our work is made attainable by beneficiant donations from our supporters and by devoted, sturdy state-based conservation funding. From the Discovery Stations at Rowe Sanctuary to the Conservation Forage Program in North Dakota, these state-based conservation investments assist habitat, communities, and wildlife throughout the Nice Plains. This previous 12 months, throughout the three states of the Nice Plains, we’ve got seen state conservation funding diminish, whereas in different states, there are actions to extend funding.

I’m very proud how we strengthened our voice this legislative session, participating in Nebraska to reply to efforts impacting the Nebraska Environmental Belief and constructing relationships in North Dakota and South Dakota to advance conservation throughout the area.

Thanks for being a part of this work. Your assist helps make all of it attainable.
