    Though Sandhill Cranes stage within the Platte River valley in giant numbers throughout the spring migration, this isn’t the case within the fall. Through the months of September and October, cranes stage in areas of japanese Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, North Dakota, South Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. The earliest we sometimes see (or hear) cranes is late September, with the height of the fall migration occurring from late October by early November and ending someday in December. Throughout this time the cranes not often keep for an prolonged interval, normally simply in a single day in the event that they do cease. 

    Cranes might be seen and heard at Rowe Sanctuary throughout the fall, however we shouldn’t have guided area journeys.
