Audubon Chapters are the boots on the bottom throughout the Lone Star State, and we’re fortunate to have native Audubon chapters and organizations that help the Audubon mission. Chapters know the neighborhood, the wants, and the birds. They will share the message of chook conservation and make true change whether or not it’s planting native gardens of their neighborhoods or internet hosting Birding 101 lessons in Spanish. The work of chapters is important as we work in the direction of constructing a flock of numerous Audubon members that transfer up the ladder of engagement.

For over 30 years, Audubon Basis of Texas (AFT) has been financially helping Texas Chapters to help their work in key areas together with environmental schooling, neighborhood science, habitat restoration, native vegetation, neighborhood outreach, and conservation.

In fall of 2025, AFT awarded over $15,000 to chapters throughout Texas and a further $5,000 price of reward playing cards from HEB! With this cash our Texas Chapters will work on a wide range of tasks throughout seven completely different ecoregions in Texas in 10 completely different communities. A few of the tasks embody:

    • Habitat restoration at Langley Island, on Blackland Prairie, and Excessive Island
    • Binoculars for youth and grownup programming
    • Buying Lights Out, Texas! Yard indicators
    • Assist for Christmas Chook Rely actions

We’re pleased with the work chapters are doing on the bottom in Texas communities to construct the flock and create areas welcoming for all. Birding is a gateway into nature and thru extra programming, Audubon chapters are working in the direction of constructing inviting areas the place everybody can take pleasure in nature and the tune of birds.

Chapters can be reporting how their tasks are going all year long on the Audubon Foundation of Texas website. We encourage you to go to them or your native chapter to see what tasks they’re taking part in domestically and the way you may have the ability to assist develop the flock.
