United States Christmas Chicken Counts (CBC) reported 671 species, 70 infraspecific types (types), and 35 unique species (ex).  The Southern Lapwing at Oscoda, MI, and the Wooden Sandpiper at San Jacinto Lake, CA, have been new species.  Extra species throughout Depend Week (cw) have been – Gunnison Sage-Grouse (CO, Gunnison), White-tailed Ptarmigan (CO, Aspen), Fork-tailed Storm-Petrel (AK, Sitka), Masked Booby and Slaty-backed Gull (HI, Halfway Atoll), Black Tern (HI, North Kona), Purple-faced Warbler nd (AZ, Ramsey Canyon), and Scarlet Tanager (IA, Ames) which had been reported in earlier years.

Just one CBC can have essentially the most species within the nation, however many counts can have the very best tally of a species.  This season 44 states and 394 CBCs had the very best rely for at the least one species. California led all states with excessive tallies of 131 species, 16 types, and 15 ex.   Florida positioned 2nd for the 4th time in 5 years with excessive counts of 91 species, 6 types and 17 ex.   Texas was third with excessive counts for 84 species, 3 types and three ex.  These have been adopted by Arizona with excessive tallies for 75 species, 4 types and 1 cw, Hawai’i with 66 species, 3 types, 1 ex. and three cw, Alaska 34 species and 1 cw, Louisiana 24 species and a couple of types, Oregon 20 species and 4 types, Washington 20 species and a couple of types, Massachusetts 18 species and 1 kind, and New Mexico 11 species.  All different States had lower than 11 excessive counts.

Gainesville, FL, had the very best tally for 18 species and 1 kind.  Halfway Atoll, HI, 15 species and a couple of cw, Atascosa Highlands, AZ, had excessive counts for 15 species, Kendall Space, FL, 11 species and three ex., O’ahu: Honolulu, HI, 11 species and 1 ex., Homestead, FL, 11 species, San Diego, CA, 9 species, 1 kind and a couple of ex.  Hawai’i: Volcano and Kaua’a: Lihu’e, HI, Nogales, AZ, and Guadalupe River Delta-McFaddin Household Ranches, TX, every had 9 species. Tucson Valley, AZ, had 8 species and 1 kind and Portal 8 species. All different CBCs had excessive counts on 7 species or much less.

All-time excessive counts have been made for 31 species this season.  We broke two information which had stood for at the least 30 years.  The 117 White-tipped Doves at Falcon Dam and S.P., TX, topped the outdated report of 115 reported by Santa Ana N.W.R., TX, in the course of the 91st season, and the 75 Chinese language Hwamei at Kaua’i: Lihu’e, HI, topped the 43-year-old report of 70 by Kaua’i: Kapa’a, HI.
