    New Funding Will Help Turn the Tide on Salt Marsh Loss in Maryland

    BALTIMORE – The Nationwide Audubon Society has acquired a $13 million grant that will help large-scale marsh restoration tasks throughout Maryland, addressing the fast lack of salt marsh habitat all through the Chesapeake Bay and past. 

    The funding will help the restoration of 600 acres of tidal marsh and wetlands and represents a serious step ahead in Marshes for Tomorrow, an Audubon-led collaborative initiative that confronts Maryland’s salt marsh disaster via science-based, nature-driven options.
