    National Audubon Society Applauds Launch of Bipartisan Senate Stewardship Caucus

    WASHINGTON — This week, a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators formalized the brand new Senate Stewardship Caucus, created to help the well being, leisure, and financial advantages of our pure sources. Launched by U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-NM) and Tim Sheehy (R-MT), the newly fashioned Congressional caucus commits to working throughout the aisle to advance efforts that shield and restore public lands, waters and wildlife habitat; improve outside entry for communities throughout the nation; and strengthen native economies that rely upon wholesome and ample pure locations. As of the formal launch, 4 extra Senators have joined the caucus: Senators Steve Daines (R-MT), John Hickenlooper (D-CO), Katie Britt (R-AL), Catherine Cortez-Masto (D-NV), and Thom Tills (R-NC).

    Assertion from Marshall Johnson, Chief Conservation Officer on the Nationwide Audubon Society:

    “The accountable stewardship of our pure sources is crucial for the well being and sustainability of our nation’s birds, individuals, and native economies. From wetlands that buffer communities from flooding to forests that help biodiversity and carbon storage, investing in conservation delivers advantages for generations to return.

    “The Senate Stewardship Caucus embodies the bipartisan spirit that has lengthy outlined America’s best conservation achievements. By working collectively we will be sure that stewardship of our shared pure heritage continues to unite and maintain each individuals and wildlife.

    “Audubon appears to be like ahead to working with members of the brand new caucus to safe sturdy conservation insurance policies that ship advantages for birds and communities throughout the nation and hemisphere.”
