    Endangered Species Act Rules Prioritize Science in Conserving Vulnerable Species

    WASHINGTON (March 28, 2024) – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service introduced new rules governing the implementation of the Endangered Species Act, restoring some protections that had been eliminated beneath the earlier administration and strengthening conservation for threatened species. 

    “Relating to conservation of birds and different wildlife, we help main with science,” stated Jon Hayes, vice-president on the Nationwide Audubon Society and govt director of Audubon New Mexico. “We admire the nice work of the Fish and Wildlife Service to make use of the very best science out there to make these adjustments.  Within the face of threats like local weather change and habitat loss, it’s important that we act to make sure the survival of species in decline for many years to come back.”
