Nationwide poetry month is the biggest literary celebration on this planet with tens of thousands and thousands of members worldwide. It celebrates poets’ integral position in our tradition and reminds us that poetry issues.

Have fun with us by strolling the haiku trail on the Randall Davey Audubon Middle and sit or stroll amongst the phrases and birds. The path is dotted with haikus by native poets rendered on ceramic plaques and hung alongside a route that begins at our wildlife gardens and leads up towards the acequia.

One in every of our featured poets is the present United States Poet Laureate, Arthur Sze. Arthur just lately visited the Middle with photographers and videographers from the Library of Congress who have been interviewing him and documenting his work. A number of of his poems have been impressed by the great thing about the Randall Davey Middle. The Middle can be particular to Arthur as that is the place he and his spouse, the poet Carol Moldaw, have been married beneath an apricot tree within the orchard.

Go to the Randall Davey Audubon Middle to see Arthur and Carol’s poems on the haiku path together with 22 different New Mexico poets, and whereas you’re right here, cease in our present store to search out publications by native nature poets.  See you quickly!
