A symphony of pealing laughter, buzzing bugs, and rumbling thunder, marked the beginning of Summer time Camp on the Randall Davey Audubon Heart.
Greater than 135 campers, with binoculars in hand, explored our Wildlife Backyard searching for birds, hiked by means of our pinyon-juniper woodland, examined macro-invertebrates within the Santa Fe River, and investigated animal skulls up in our ponderosa forest. Notable animal sightings embody a vibrant male Western Tanager, a myriad of whizzing hummingbirds, nesting Western Bluebirds within the orchard, a garter snake within the river, and glimpses on our wildlife digicam of New Mexico black bear, grey fox, and mountain lion!
Our group companions from the Santa Fe Raptor Heart, Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, the Santa Fe Watershed Affiliation, and the Grasp Gardeners dropped by to share their data and assets to assist make this yr’s camp expertise as constructive and informational as potential.
