2025 proved to be a profitable nesting season at 9 islands in Manatee County, the place 15 species raised their younger, together with Nice Egrets, Roseate Spoonbills, Wooden Storks, and Reddish Egrets. Within the non-breeding season, volunteers and workers cleaned greater than 1,200 toes of fishing line from colonies. Following the 2024 hurricane season, island administration workers put in new indicators and eliminated particles from a number of islands.
By way of sturdy partnerships and the dedication of volunteers, this work protects birds throughout Manatee County.
