Recognizing volunteers and the impression they make on conservation is a long-standing custom at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. On March 24, we hosted the annual volunteer recognition occasion in celebration of the 112 volunteers who donated greater than 7,500 hours over the previous 12 months.
With the theme “Fueling Our Future,” the occasion welcomed volunteers to socialize with employees over reside music, drinks, and a bountiful buffet. In the course of the night program, Florida Gulf Coast College Professor Win Everham supplied a heartfelt and academic presentation about our altering world.
Seven volunteers reached milestones of their service hours and had been commemorated on the model new volunteer recognition board within the Blair Customer Heart, which highlights people who’ve volunteered 500 and as much as 10,000 hours.
Reaching 500 service hours had been Dan Carpenter, Charlie Rocks, Brent Smith, and Robin Stark. Lisa Schroder and Jack Shine surpassed 1,000 hours, and Murray Yost surpassed 2,500 hours.
The recipient of this 12 months’s Volunteer Affect Award was Charlie Rocks.
